As your convener for this for ICSEI this coming year I would like the
MORE network to have a stronger presence within ICSEI and at the
congresses. To start I would like to invite all of you to attend the
coming annual meeting in Cyprus. The congress is headed by Leonidas
Kyriakides, who most of you know as being loyal member of the MORE
network for many years.
To help support the presence of MORE at this congress we would like to
invite your participation in the following symposia.

Symposium 1: Large Scale Testing (Symposium leader: Saad Chahine)
Symposium 2: Teacher Quality (Symposium leader: Daniel Mujis)
Symposium 3: Mixed Methods (Symposium leader: Sonia Ben Jaafar)
Symposium 4: Data use (in conjunction with the data use network to be
established at ICSEI 2011) (Symposium leader: Kim Schildkamp)

We are looking for papers so if you have an idea for a paper or an

One more question concerning the data use symposium. I was wondering if
it would be possible to schedule our symposium at the end of an
afternoon and have our first meeting as a network directly afterwards
(in the same room?), where we can further discuss our mission, vision,
and goals. What do you think?

Hi Kim, 

you can actually make that part of the symposium if you wanted its flexible -- maybe leave like the last 30 min or so for that.

Hi Kim -- Moosung Lee and I could present a significant variation on the paper that we are completing for the special issue, which focuses on district data use policies as an element of reducing the "gap" between more and less affluent students.  Our additional analyses focus on the effects of school type (primary/secondary) and highlight the problem of creating effective district policies that work in more and less complex school environments.  You can decide if it fits in...I will sned the SEM to you separately, just in case you are curious.  Karen
