I updated my Bluetooth driver via Windows update, and in the middle of the update, my mouse stopped working. "Devices" in settings said Bluetooth was turned off, but there was no way to turn it on. I checked Device Manager, and there is no Bluetooth device available. However, there is an "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".
I tried uninstalling the drivers and updating to 22.200.0 from the Intel website, but to no avail. I was also unable to rollback the driver version. Windows Bluetooth troubleshooter also fails to find a Bluetooth device.
Power cycling didn't have any effect. I switched to a wired mouse and reconnected my Bluetooth mouse through a Logitech unifying receiver, so I am able to interact with the computer, but I'm still unable to use any other Bluetooth peripherals.
I also tried restarting the Bluetooth Support Service under services.msc. No effect. Also uninstalling the "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed" from Device Manager just brings the device back later, and I'm unable to manually install a driver for it. Platform is Windows 10 64 bit.
Done all the troubleshooting I can find on-line with no luck. I think I'm going to physically remove the AX200 card, reboot then uninstall everything I can find relating to it, and then re-install as it was working perfectly for the past several years. What a pain!
OK kudos for this needs to go to ... this is total voodoo but I had exactly the same problem with Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard ... added and removed various versions of driver, disabled and reenabled bluetooth in bios etc. etc. etc - tearing my hair out until this weird fix really did fix it ... so my final steps were:
Well I'm bowled over! This worked for me! BT is back and working fine. I guess the soft re-start they do is not enough and making sure all the power has dissipated from the MB is what seems to be needed.
I have a question!
I been hearing about this power supply solution but it seems to work for PC's or laptops where you can remove the battery.
I have an Asus X571GT where you can't simply remove the battery.
Will holding down this power button solution work as well? It doesn't factory reset anything right?

hi! I have an Inspiron 7501 and i've noticed this error in the bluetooth Device Manager windows : This device has failed and is undergoing a reset. (Code 54). In fact, it happens that my bluetooth mice stop working when this error accurs. Restarting the system solved the problem only temporary. Someone knows a solution?
Having the same problem on my XPS 15. Just started a few weeks ago and seems to be getting worse. I tried uninstalling the Intel Bluetooth and reinstalling, but this did not help. Hopefully we get some answers soon.
Have the same issue with a Precision 5560. Latest Win11 build. Tested different Intel drivers 22.190.0.2 and 22.140.0.4 but no difference. Bluetooth works for x-couple of minutes and then stops working. Reboot fixes the isses temp...
I am having the same problem with my Dell XPS 15 9510 that is just a little more than a year old. I can not use any bluetooth devices with the laptop, (mouse, headset, speaker, etc.) and in the windows device manager when selecting properties it says: "This device has failed and is undergoing a reset. (Code 54)" as device status. Hopefully Dell support can help find a solution, or fix it in a driver update.
I am having the same issue with my Dell Precision M5550. I am constantly getting "This device has failed and is undergoing a reset. (Code 54)" error on Intel Wireless Bluetooth adapter. Sometimes a reboot solves the issue for several minutes but after several minutes of use the device stops working. I hope this is a software issue and can be solved with a new driver update.
I am having this issue also, everything appears to be up to date but devices aren't working and error code 54 showing on Bluetooth device - Dell XPS 9510. Restarting not solving anything for me, not found a solution yet.
If the Intel bluetooth software & driver is already installed on your notebook, and you want to update it, you can uninstall the current version by going to the Windows control panel>Programs>uninstall a program.
I am using using AMD processor and msi motherboard but did not find the Bluetooth driver in AMD site. Did not find any proper video to download the amd Bluetooth driver. IN internet all drivers for intel. So, what can I do?
Before I purchased my Asus Motherboard with integrated Bluetooth/Wifi I was using a Gigabyte Bluetooth/Wifi PCIe card. It worked great and had no issues with connecting my Bluetooth hardware or devices.
Just go to Amazon or any online Retailer and input Wifi/Bluetooth PCIe card and it will show you a selection that might be in your budget or fit in your PC. If you don't have an extra PCIe x1 slot then you will need to purchase a USB Wifi/Bluetooth device.
I purchased the Beelink i3 N305 EQ12 Pro to run Home Assistant OS. I successfully burned the HAOS image to the SSD. Powering on the Beelink correctly launches Home Assistant however I am getting the following error:
It seems that the required driver for the installed bluetooth hardware is missing. This is a pretty new system with a new CPU and a new WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 AX101 module. It seems that the needed driver is not included in the latest HAOS. Check here -assistant/operating-system/issues if somebody already requested support for the new module and if not then you can do it.

Thanks for the link to the cnx-software.com article. It states that just 2 symlink commands enable Linux (pre 6.5) to find the NEW Bluetooth drivers simply by referring to them by an earlier/known name.
With the above in mind, please try updating the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers on your PC, to see if this helps. You should also ensure that you are running the app on a compatible device by checking the specifications below.
The problem seems not to have anything to do with bluetooth and wifi, as transfers work when I skip signing in to my Samsung account on the Windows Quick Share app, and send to receive from "Anyone". The problem is when I try to sign in to my Samsung account through the Windows Quick Share app. I get the same blank screen as @RichWar did. The app does not freeze as I could click the "x" button on the top right corner of the white blank pop-up window and get back to the Quick Share top screen (the one with the option to either "Skip" or "Sign In".
Hi @RichWar , I had the same problem as yours, and I reported it today in this thread by replying to @AndrewL yesterday (see below). Though I haven't heard back from Andrew, I tried using Quick Share again on my Surface Pro 9 today, and to my surprise, when I click "Sign In", it opened my Microsoft Store app prompting me to install the Samsung Account application. I proceeded to install Samsung Account and signed in to my Samsung Account on it, and then Quick Share started working as it should.
Yeah, even months later, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Currently, it doesn't. I can Quick Share files to my computer from my phone, but my computer won't Quick Share files to my phone. Go figure. And trying to search for any real help (other than admins telling you to update your drivers - which rarely seems to be the actual issue) is like trying to play a game of Whack-A-Mole for outdated responses (i.e. update your drivers).
stop pretending it's a diver problem and hiding behind some obscure driver version requirements from an OEM. It's simple that this app is so poorly engineered and designed that Samsung was never capable of getting it to work on non Galaxy notebooks simple as that. My laptop can receive and deliver over WiFi and BT with dozens of other apps but for some strange reason on Samsung Quickshare refuse to work and uses these intel driver number as an excuse for missing skill and knowledge.
Small reminder for good system design: never ask your customer to check the version number of a specific hard driver, this is your job, yes you hear this right Mr highly paid software engineer: your job.
