As educators, we are very aware that online learning can be challenging for some of our younger learners. None of us at ICS want to go online and hoped we could stay on campus longer.
While transmission rates seem low especially for younger student to student transmission, there is still a high probability of transmission to the teachers and EAs. Additionally, this year we have had to close down our grade 1 and grade 2 classes for a period of time during this school year, because of positive cases, exposure and possible transmission.
Because of the high community transmission and positivity rates, to ensure the health and safety of our students and employees, we have made the difficult decision that many schools around the world have been required to make and move to online learning for all learners.
At the same time, we will continue to deliver our guaranteed and viable curriculum, reaching all of our learning targets.
We know that this causes a strain and disruption to our community, but feel this is the right decision for our community.
