Dear ICS,

As some families are preparing to return to ICS for the New Year (myself included) can you please advise what the recommended protocol is, if any, for students to quarantine before the first day of on campus classes? 

I apologize if this has been addressed, however since we were not enrolled this semester, we do not receive emails from ICS, other than than the Newsletter. 

Also can you provide a link for the Middle School school supply list?

Hi Dawn,

Here is some information regarding the start of school in January.

December Holiday Break / School resumes on 4 January

The shift from a 14 day to a 7 day quarantine by the Ethiopian Government, allows for a more flexible December break. 

To provide even more flexibility and to keep our community safe, the ICS Leadership team has decided to begin our second semester online for all students for the first three days, 4-6 January. January 7 and 8 have already been marked as holidays for Ethiopian Christmas. The first day back to campus will be Monday 11 January.  More information about what those 3 online days will look like will be communicated through your child’s divisional leadership. 

 This will allow our families to:

• travel out of the country over the December holiday 

• return to Addis no later than 2 January

• start school online from 4-6 January

• quarantine for 7 days

• get a second COVID test and results 

• start on campus on 11 January
