We’ve lined up contributors from Imperial’s Bio-Engineering department, Blatchford Clinical Service, Ford Motor Company, Treloars itself of course and regular GID visiting tutors (covering strategy, design expression and Human
Centred Design) but we don’t have much in the way of electo-mechanical support. Our usual tutors are are covering some days but are busier than expected with Client work and unable to support as we had hoped.
Would you or someone else from ICRS be interested in providing tech support for one or two days? Our students are expected to work through challenges themselves, whether it's related to strategy & business, design process,
expression or engineering, but we do provide Tutor support to help sign-post resources, problem-solve as necessary and explain how the students might take the next steps in whatever they’re doing. Our Tutors should not be doing the work for the students (it
does happen of course, especially in the run-up to major deadlines).
Our students may deploy all sorts of technology in this project, but it will mostly be combining off-the-shelf hardware with prototyping platforms such as Processing or Arduino. They’ll have access to Leap motions, Oculus Rift,
Tobii EyeX trackers, Intel Senz 3D camera, Google Glass explorers, various motors etc.
If you or any of your colleagues are interested in supporting this project, then we’d really like to hear from you.
We’re looking for tech support on:
Thursday 15th January (next week!)
Thursday 22nd January
We can pay up to £200 per day.
Thanks for considering. I look forward to hearing from you.
