Hello!

Your time has come to help decide on some serious spending, I mean like SERIOUS SPENDING, between 500,000 and 1,000,000gbp. The advanced hackspace are trying to think of things that are needed for the new hackspace (I assume in the new campus). I will take all suggestions >10Kgbp.

Sounds like it would be best to let ICAH and ICRS users decide! Josh?

It might be worth talking to the UCL "Institute of Making" people about this. I'm a member there, and they've set up a really nice workshop there (with a couple full-time workshop technicians) with various workshop tools, CNC machines, bandsaw etc etc.

Or perhaps the London Hackspace, first. I strongly suggest looking at their list of equipment, copying it down, and going from there.

In case it helps, UCL Makespace is managed by Ellie Doney <e.d...@ucl.ac.uk>. Antonio, a PhD student at the time, was heavily involved in speccing it - email me directly if you'd like his contact details. I believe the IoM budget was of a similar order, but they had significant space constraints.

We're at con...@london.hackspace.org.uk or #london-hack-space on IRC if you'd like to sound anything out.
