Subject: Indigenous Leaders Conservation Fellowship - applications now being accepted

Dear Colleagues,

I'm pleased to share that we're launching the newest cycle of our Indigenous Leaders Conservation Fellowship and are accepting applications until November 2. This year's fellows have two thematic tracks:

    • Indigenous Women – Intended to engage, equip and connect indigenous women leaders for climate change resilience and conservation.
    • Emerging Indigenous Leaders – Intended to support emerging indigenous leaders to understand and communicate the valuable contributions of traditional knowledge in combating climate change and biodiversity loss. This year, the Emerging Leaders fellowship has a specific focus on marine ecosystems, and how traditional knowledge and management of marine environments can contribute to climate and/or conservation solutions.

Additional info:

  • 2 awardees for each track
  • $15k award for each fellow, including funds for a community-based project and professional development
  • 18 month fellowship (Jan 1 2019 to June 30 2020)
  • The individual nominations materials (attached), go into greater detail on each fellowship track and its focus and specific eligibility requirements.

If you could, please help us by sharing the attached materials with your networks.  We do hope to connect these fellows with Conservation International country programs, should their geographies overlap, and may reach out for your help in selection of finalists.

I’m happy to answer any questions. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks,

Kame
