Unable to Quit ICQ

My UIN is 5945222. I am running Version 2000a Beta 4.31 and my
operating system is Win98.
Recently I have been unable to close ICQ by any normal method. When I
click on the flower in my tray to bring up the program window, If I
click on the "X" in the upper right corner ICQ will not close and the
program window remains on my screen. The only way I can close the
program is by selecting CNTL+ALT+DEL and highlighting my UIN.
I have uninstalled the program twice and re-installed it. I have even
tried installing version 99a and I still have the same problem.

Any help would be most appreciated.

I close ICQ this way:
- open the program window (double-click on flower in systray)
- left click on the "ICQ" button to get a menu
- click on "Shutdown"

Works every time.

Your method does not work either. The program still locks up and when I
select CNTL+ALT+DEL the message window shows:

5945333 [Not responding]
