The DDI Alliance is working to improve the usability of our website, and we'd love your input!

We’re hosting 50-minute user experience (UX) testing sessions focused on how content is organized and labeled on the site.  No preparation is needed—just bring your perspective and let us know what works (and what doesn't).

If you're interested, please select a time that works for you using this calendar link: https://calendar.app.google/aMyEAcv9nQ6z7GTVA

Sessions will be held via Zoom, and the UX designer will send you the meeting link once your slot is confirmed.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to help shape the future of our website. Your feedback is truly appreciated!

Adrian,
Just to let you know TC is in the process of the following steps in updating and improving the Use Case section of the DDI Alliance website.
  • Developing a template to provide more uniform presentation of the Use Cases
  • Revision of Markup Examples, DDI Metadata Profiles, and Tools to create underlying databases that can be presented as a web page and filtered by controlled vocabularies (this will let us update use cases with new tools be entering appropriately tagged tools in the database)
  • Reviewing and updating all the current Use Cases and adding to them through the work of topic groups (such as Question/Questionnaire Working Group)
We will be working on this over the next few months and would appreciate the assistance of you and others with interests in these pages. I know that several people in the Tools Development group are interested in creating an easy means of entering new tools and updating current entries as needed.

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

Would you like to respond to Adrian's recommendation about the Tools section?

Thanks,
Jared

Dear All,

I haven't been able to join any UX session, unfortunately.
Browsing the new website, if any input still has value, I noticed the page on creating a codebook:

which lists a set of tools, many of which are either obsolete (e.g. Sledgehammer) or commercial (e.g. StatTransfer).

As you might already know, alternatives are available (even open-source) with video tutorials on how to use them:

In the Resources top section of the website, the "Tools" link lands into an almost empty webpage, with a link to an Excel file.
There really should be no reason why those Excel entries would not be listed into a proper webpage. If there is any technical difficulty in creating such an HTML page, I am happy to help.

With all my best,
Adrian
