Attached is the generic drug formulary.

I'll also share set of companies that offer a search engine capability (online) with generic drug database.
Most of these services also come as a phone app and are available free of cost to both doctors and patients to search for a generic drug.

It will be interesting to explore if we have to recreate the formulary on our own or license it from one of these (depends on the cost and if they have a api available for us to connect with them).

Cheers
Karthik

Adding some more data.
National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) of India was prepared in 2011 considering three important aspects i.e. cost, safety and efficacy. Furthermore it promotes prescription by generic names. - http://cdsco.nic.in/National%20List%20of%20Essential%20Medicine-%20final%20copy.pdf
A total of 348 medicines (excluding repetitions) are present in NLEM (National List of Essential Medicines) 2011. In the NLEM 2011, 181 medicines fall under the category of P, S and T, 106 medicines fall under the category of S, T while 61 medicines are categorized as T only.
- P, S and T denote essentiality at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels
