There Be Dragons tells the story of two childhood friends who find
themselves on opposite sides as Civil war in Spain erupts. One chooses
the path of peace and becomes a priest (St. Josemaria Escriva) while the
other chooses a life of jealousy and revenge. Each struggles to find
the faith and forgiveness to overcome the forces tearing them apart.
About the Movie: Roland Joffe, the director who brought us the highly
acclaimed and deeply spiritual film The Mission has returned to his
roots with the epic movie, There Be Dragons, a powerful story of war,
tragedy, love and redemption. Set during the turmoil of the Spanish
Civil War (early 1900s).
Wes Bentley (American Beauty) leads a terrific ensemble that includes
Charlie Cox (Stardust), Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace), Derek Jacobi
(The King's Speech), Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible II) and Rodrigo
Santoro (300).
WHAT CRITICS ARE SAYING:
"Compelling." Dick Rolfe, Dove Foundation
"An amazing narrative of faith." Lauren Green, Fox News Correspondent
"A movie focused on redemption." Ted Baehr, Movieguide
"Charlie Cox gives a great performance!" Will Leitch, Yahoo! Movies
"Reaches down deep and stirs the soul." Scott Hahn, Author and Speaker
Join us at “Rated F” (Faith, Food, Fellowship, Friends, Family, Fun and
Flix) this Saturday (March 10) for “There Be Dragons”. The movie is on a
big 12 Ft. Screen in Dolby Stereo (think Star Wars). It’s almost like
being at the movies with all your best friends… almost… Free popcorn; we
have special (soon to be famous) Triple L Ranch popcorn free of charge
and made in an old 80’s style rotating arm popcorn maker… I just love to
watch that thing go!
Everyone welcome! Note---it is rated ‘PG-13’, so no young children please
