i got a prolem wd my usb ports my dekstop.
all of my usb ports give diff error at diff times....
when i try to plug a usb drive...
ERROR:d device is malfunctioned n may not work properly....
this is not a s/w defect since..... i have reinstalled windows in
search of a solution.
waiting for ur ideas to sort the porblem.

hi try to use another pendrive i think your pendrive is not working.

yaar actually mere saath same case ho chuka hai to maine iske bare mein kisi bande se baat kari thi usne bola ki iski ic kharab ho jane ke karan hota hai yeh short circuit jaruri ni hai ki pendrive ka hua ho yeh tere usb port ka bi ho sacta hai so tu us per koi or pendrive laga kar dekh agar wo run karti hai to tera usb port sai hai ni to ni to pendriv khrab hai

plug it in ubuntu( or any other linux) .
If it dosen't automatically mount ,mount it manually using the following command:
mkdir /mnt/pendrive
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/pendrive -o loop
(check whether it is sda1 or whatever using fdisk -l )
format it there and than try on windows.
