SVG cannot give characters codes

When I, for example, try to give my to-be-g glyph the 'g' code (67), the typing box turns red. Any ideas? I can't make my font like this.

You probably have another glyph associated with character 'g'. Note that multicolor glyphs take more than one character.

No multicolor, no other glyph associated with 'g'
