Trouble with uploading a vector image

Hi all

As suggested in the Icomoon App documentation, I'm importing an SVG file that I'm hoping to use as the basis for a new icon. The file is not interpreted by the app, which makes me suspect that we haven't done something properly in Illustrator. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don't seem to be able to attach it here, but I can make it available to anyone who wishes to help.
