What CAD do you use?
Ideally a CAD should allow people to become prosumers of AD. What new possibilities are there that allow even a novice in personalizing the CAD of an AD for him/herself?
Id like to hear your feedback.
Maybe you can share in this doc:

I use Freecad.

I make very simple things (mainly enclosures for electronics of various types) and am very much a novice CAD user. I picked Freecad because it was free and open source with no requirement to sign up for an account or limitations on its use. It's all I have ever used so its way of doing things is what I am used to. Maybe other software is technically better but I have no reason to change.

It's fairly unlikely that I'll be working with someone who needs to personalise a CAD file I have made.

Great information, Sandy! Thank you for sharing your experience with using Freecad and your perspective on personalizing CAD files for assistive devices. I wanted to mention that we actually have a patient for whom a volunteer from eNable has created the DualShock device. You can find more details about it here:https://thorsen.it/ATPilot/archives/3850

In line with the spirit of ICoCreAD, I believe it would be an incredible opportunity for the patient to participate in modifying the design files of the DualShock device, perhaps by personalizing it with their name or any other customization they desire. This level of involvement can significantly enhance their sense of ownership and therapeutic value, as they actively contribute to the creation of their own assistive device.

Ive seen a lot of new CAD coming up so Id like to hear more ideas and experiences
