The ICoCreAD (International Consortium of Creatable Assistive Devices) is a network of people interested in open-source AT and other non commercial solutions for assisting people with disabilities in their daily living.
Join us by sending a mail to :icocread+subscribe@
One objective of ICoCreAD is to form a special interest group bringing together AT makers and healthcare providers around the world, to help people in need for AT that is either cost prohibitive or can’t be found on the commercial market, by sharing experiences of alternative personalised solutions, to as many people as possible, to share experiences and ideas for improvement, to promote empowerment by helping finding local resources for do-it-yourself solutions.
To reach the goal we are building an interactive library of non-commercial open source solutions whose functionality and quality has been rated by peers (other users).
Machine translation helps us to provide information in many languages and we strive to provide global coverage using a wikipedia-like model.
Please join the mission. Can you help with testing the AT solutions? Can you add your ideas? Have you posted some DIY assistive devices you want to share?
Are you a local DIY AT provider ( a fablab, makerspace, occupational therapist, person with disability inventing solutions, a healthcare worker, student, maker…just to mention a few.) ?
Lets share open source ideas and complement the existing assistive technology databases (e.g. www.eastin.eu) with specialised non-commercial solutions and make them accessible to everyone.
