The following is a courtesy announcement for a local event and is not
an ICMDS program
"And She Said..."
Date: November 1st, 2010
Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Venue: Sheafer Lab Theatre, Bryan Center, Duke University (125 Science
Drive, Durham, NC)
Tickets: Free and available at the door
“And She Said…” is a dance theater (Bharwork that grounds itself in
the works of Tamil women poets on love and war, their translations,
and the poetry of women poets from across cultures.
Aniruddhan Vasudevan – a dancer / writer / activist in Chennai, India
-- has been a student of Chitra Visweswaran and has also worked with
English and Tamil theatre. Lakshmi Sriraman (based in Lexington,
Kentucky) is a student of Priyadarshini Govind's and runs the Shree
School of Dance where she trains students in Bharatanatyam.
Dr. Sumathi Ramaswamy, Director, Duke Center for South Asian Studies,
will be doing the welcome / introduction.
