Maj. Gen. Vikram Singh was Chief Instructor at Army War College till April 2022, commanding a training team of 6 Brigadiers and 50 Colonels for training of 1800 middle level Army officers per year. He was General Officer Commanding (GOC) of an infantry division in western theatre.
As Brigadier, he has performed the duties of Operations Staff Officer for Central Theatres Operational Duties. Prior to that, he has also served at Technology Resource Centre of Army Design Bureau. He has commanded a mountain brigade in the Northern Border and also served as Director (Concept and Force Application) in the Directorate General of Strategic Planning of Integrated Headquarters of Defence.
A proud recipient of Sword of Honour from OTA and twice awarded Army Chief's Commendation Cards, his career progression has been amazing and skill and knowledge he has acquired during such strategically important assignments has made him suitable for any leadership position.
In a constantly evolving world, especially of industrial development locally or globally, the responsibilities to secure industrial assets become very challenging and complex. Security professionals cannot afford to be complacent nor can survive professionally if they do not acquire new knowledge and skills. Continual improvement is a constant need and responsibility of all true professionals and security professionals are no exception.
