Summary

The Italian National Agency and the SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre offer an international opportunity to discuss, develop and reflect on Youhtpass and the recognition of non-formal learning in the context of the Youth in Action programme.

Costs

If you are coming from a programme country: travel costs will be covered by your National Agency. Whether there is a participation fee and how much it might be depends on the national regulations of your country; please contact your National Agency for information. If you are coming from a neighbouring partner country: The Italian NA offers 3 places in the course for participants from neighbouring partner countries. Travel costs will be covered by the Italian NA.

During the training course you will have the opportunity to deepen the understanding and knowledge of Youthpass by exploring its potential as a tool in the Youth in Action activities and as an instrument for recognition of youth work. The course will create possibilities to explore the meaning of learning-to-learn, Key-competences, assessment and dialogue process in your educational practice with young people. During the training days in Italy the important focus will be kept also on identifying the strategies for multiplying the philosophy of the Youthpass and developing concrete multiplying actions after coming back to your environment.

The aim of the training course is:
To increase the understanding of Youthpass in the Youth in Action Programme and support its implementation process to recognising non-formal education and learning in Europe and on National level

Objectives are:
- To provide participants with learning opportunities on international level by creating possibilities for sharing experience and developing expertise in non-formal education further
- To deepen the understanding and knowledge of Youthpass by exploring its potential as a tool in the Youth in Action Programme and as an instrument for social recognition of youth work
- To explore the meaning of components (e.g. learning- to-learn, Key-competences, assessment, dialogue process) in educational practice with young people and by implementing the Youthpass in this training
- To raise the awareness on the wider recognition context of non-formal education and learning through the reflection on the recent developments in youth and education policies in Europe
- To enhance the networking for supporting the further recognition work by providing the possibilities for participants to make contacts internationally and by identifying the potential and recourses for networking at their level of influence
- To identify the capacity and strategies for multiplying the philosophy, idea and concept of Youthpass by developing concrete multiplying actions on personal, organisational and other levels

Activity title

Training Course: “Belonging to Europe”

Summary

The TC "Belonging to Europe" will run in Batumi, Georgia and will bring participants coming from 10 countries in order to discuss and explore the concepts, values and dimensions of the European Citizenship. The project will have as main elements the historical background of European Citizenship; Europe its identity and its Neighbors; Concept of Citizenship and its Education; the characteristic spheres and components; and how to put it in action. Representing the EU and EECA region participants will be able to discuss the European borders and to reflect on the European Union enlargement from both regions perspectives.

Target group

The TC will train 31 young participants in European Citizenship domain that further will be able to multiply the knowledge and implement innovative projects with the same topic.

Also because of a relationship with an organisation for disabled people from Romania we want to bring in 4 persons with disabilities, these people we allready knowand this will be a big plus for the rest of the youngsters involved, Their condition implements that we also need 4 extra helpers because they need someone for their personal wel being.

Costs

70 % of the travel costs, board and lodging during the project are covered by the organizers, 30% of the travel costs should be covered by the particiopants themsleves

3rd Armenian Republican Model UN conference

Summary

The Armenian United Nations Association (AUNA) with support of the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs (MSY) is announcing a Call for Applications in the scope of the 3rd Armenian Republican Model UN conference to be held in Yerevan, on 11 December 2009.

The criteria for acceptance of a delegate are as follows:

Age requirements

All applicants must be at least 18 but not older than 25 years of age.

Completion of application

Complete and submit the Application form

Each applicant must complete an essay of no more than 300 words (see the Application form, Part III) on his/her motivation and purpose of taking part as a delegate in a Model United Nations.

Selection Board comprised of AUNA and MSY will choose participants of ages between 18-25 from the RA regions and from Yerevan.

Applicants will be chosen by a 2-stage competition based on their essays (see the Application form, Part III) and will be interviewed as well.

THE WORLD YOUTH MEETING IN PUGLIA

Summary

The first World Youth Meeting will be hosted in Puglia-Italy from January 19th to 21st 2010 to launch the program, confront perspectives on sustainable human development, set a common agenda of action, share knowledge and start up new initiatives.

Target group

500 youth delegates from 90 countries and more than a 1.000 youth participants will gather with thought leaders from a range of cultural backgrounds and experience representing government, politic, science and culture, international organizations, media, civil society and private sector. Young participants will be selected among those that will have posted their candidature on this website.

The Meeting will revolve around three keynote lectures, one for each of the meeting days and about 15 thematic workshops. The lectures will address three main topics for the Meeting: “Perspectives and challenges for democracy in a world of global cities”, “Environmental sustainability as precondition for human development” and “The new frontier for social and economic development after the global finance crisis”. The workshops will focus on global issues for development and the potential of tackling them at local level.

Costs

Organization will cover costs for travel, hospitality, food and visa fees to all the delegates.
