INDIAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE, Goa Branch, is organizing a ONE DAY  SEMINAR  on “ALTERNATIVE TO RIVER SAND IN CONCRETE” -  A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH TO CONSTRUCTION in Goa on 28th of November 2014, at  Conference  Hall, Ravindra Bhavan Margao Goa.

 

It is a well known fact that construction industry in Goa like all over India is facing acute shortage of River sand for concrete & mortar. Environmental concerns are also being raised on uncontrolled mining of natural sand. It is important to protect river beds against erosion and importance of having sand as a filter for ground water. hence the restriction on sand mining and in turn resulted in scarcity of sand .Hence the price of River sand is becoming exorbitant and unviable for construction economies.. Hence, ICI-Goa decided to create awareness among the practising civil engineers and construction professionals in Goa on alternative to river sand now being used all over India and abroad. 

 

For this objective, Eminent Experts in the field on this subject  shall be delivering talks. The Seminar is likely to be attended by about 125 delegates from Goa, representing State & Central Govt. sector, PSUs, builders, contractors, real estate developers, manufacturers, suppliers, consultants, academicians, students etc.
