Can someone explain how it is possible that a totally negative line (from the initial hexagram 62) leads to the judgment of hexagram 55, which is very positive?

Thanks

It doesn't seem very clear. Can you explain further?

I dont have enough info.

Any way, read it a few times (and that first line too) and let it sink in. You will find the answer to the whole reading. Take time.

There's a lot going on in each hexagram, so it depends on how you get there. From 62, you were there doing everything right as it is supposed to, but change comes through sensations inside, usually threats that you must pay attention, or it may cause you harm. Harm makes you put yourself at first place (yang line). Abundance after harm is very different from before, but it's just not the time for it yet..
Besides, the name abundance refers to what you can do if you have a loy of fire inside you, as the sun at midday. It will be much less so if you are sad for losses or what you miss. But if you manage to be strong from the soul (fire), you'll get there eventually. But until then other things may come along, so you better not think too much of what it becomes, but what it is happening now. As soon as 62 makes sense to you, and you see when and in what you may need to think about yoursel in the first place, maybe you should ask for some new advice on that.

Line 1 of h. 62 speaks of excess, that is, too much something in one direction, and the negative result. The next h. introduces the image of the sun at noon illuminating everything. So, the opposite of excess, the plenitude.
It's a philosophical approach rather than a divinatory one.
If you provide the question we can have a more specific explanation.

Every line is a comment on excess. Change happens when the open line receives too much and becomes a source of its own energy, information or consciousness. Which, when in excess, spends all its energy and opens up - to the unconsciousness, if inside (lower) or to the outside world (upper trigram). In this case, there's this fear of falling, or being in danger, that produces the change. You become conscious of yourself as you do when surviving is the issue. It's this new thinking of yourself in the first place that makes you able to provide abundance. You're not just doing what you are supposed to, you are doing it for yourself.

The initial six of the hexagram 62 Xiao Guo transforms from yin to yang, then it is 55 Feng

Gen, the mountain: still, restrained, unmoving.

Li, the fire: luminous, clinging, burning upward.

When that first line changes, the mountain takes on the nature of fire.

Within stillness, light is born.

This is transformation and nourishment — not a change imposed from without, but the subtlest shift from within, one that sets the entire hexagram in motion.

Yin becomes yang, mountain becomes fire, Xiao Guo becomes Feng — this is one single movement, unfolding across different dimensions of the same reality.

That’s the travelled journey, not absolutely negative or positive.

The hexagram image of Xiao Guo is itself the shape of a bird in flight — four yang lines in the center form the body, one yin line above and one below spread as wings. The bird is flying. Yet the spirit of Xiao Guo counsels: better to descend than ascend, better to yield than to press, better to think small than to reach far.

The initial six sits at the very bottom — the lowest position, where one should stay low, stay patient, stay still.

And yet it rushes to fly.

It has glimpsed the light ahead and wants to leap for it — forgetting that the wings are not yet strong enough, that the moment has not truly arrived.

Inauspicious does not mean there is nothing good ahead. It means: at this moment, flown this way — inauspicious.

however the transformed hexagram to 55 Feng is talking about the energy and potential of this matter itself: the direction goes for abundance.

The question is related to a spiritual issue. I had a talk with my friend about the huge interest of monks in my country monasteries in money and welfare. I asked is that OK?

Wow, there couldn’t be a more apropriate answer. They abandon what is proper, doing what is right, what they are supposed to (62) to think about what is low, their egoistic well being (change at the first line), as a way towards abundance (55). Of course they will end up losing their credibility and future well being itself acting this way.

Good interpretation of the line. Indeed excess in what is wrong for them if they continue further.
But the next h. is about God (aka King/Sun). He enlighten everybody no matter how bad they are, because He is impartial.
We find the same idea in Tao-te ching when it says the Sage treats everyone equally, not taking sides.

OK. Nice image of the Sun God. If they are monks, they might as well go this far. It's what they were supposed to be doing there anyway...

For more down to earth people, the soul, that craves for fuel as the fire, is plenty. Without the risk as seing God as a separate, innatainable entity. For if you do, then you are lost from the real I Ching... as I see it.

I don't think so. Christianity looks for redemption from death. So one doesn't need to go so far. Anyway he simply couldn't.
