Hey folks

I'm starting up a program to help build Cloud computing start-ups in
Canada, and would like to make Identity a key focus area, in particular
overlapping this with the Cloud Security Alliance work so as to define
'Trusted Cloud infrastructure'.

I'd like to approach telcos as the clients for the technology, and help
align this to local government RFP opportunities.

For example there is a project for a Sharepoint based e-Health Community
Cloud initiative, where they describe Identity requirements as being in
two parts: they won't use an external authentication provider in the first
pilot stage but would like to prepare for doing so in later stages.

I'd like to put forward a high level proposal describing how this next
stage might be approached, as the context for ICF technologies, and as
highlighted, within a context of overall Cloud Security.

Kind regards, Neil.

Hi Neil,

The NIH has been working on a similar share point portal. It is currently working with openID and will be adding IMI and SAML 2.0.

This is being done in the context of the FICAM trust framework.

John B.

Perfect, it would seem logical to propose the equivalent approach. Is
there any kind of repeatable best practice info on how to do this?

Thanks, Neil.

The external authentication provider for this project is this
initiative:

What role might Infocards play in this scenario?

Re: the Cloud Security Alliance overlap, I just noticed in their IdAM
best practice white paper they comment on XSPA and XRI/XDI as being
future technologies to watch, but without explicitly linking them into
the program. An opportunity to build such a partnership link up
perhaps?

Cheers, Neil.
