A method for EAI?

Hello folks

Is there any potential for Internet identity systems to be used
internally for EAI purposes? For example I'm thinking in particular
about a major CRM/integration focus where one of the goals is to
provide a Web SSO interface to legacy systems, but outside of that I
was wondering if the momentum and standards could be used in general
for linking customer data across different apps?
