Dear All,

I have been having some issues when using a brim as well as having supports turned on.

Obviously using a brim helps with adhesion, however, when also printing with supports, the brim for the supports overrides the brim for the part. This causes issues when the part has a draft or taper with a small area on the bottom layer that increases with height. What happens is that the part is left with gaps in the brim, reducing adhesion.

Would it be possible to implement a condition in the g-code generation where the brim for the part is generated first, then the support brims are filled in after. For instance, if the brim for the part already creates the first layer where the supports are to be printed, there is no need to create a brim for the support. If the brim for the supports is outside that of the part, then it generates as usual, and finally if there is a situation where the brim for the part finishes where a support starts, then the brim for the support is just added to the outside of the brim for the part.

I hope all this makes sense.

Regards,

Mitch
