all of a sudden, the iceccd on one of the machine exibits errors:

ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: <send compile_file>
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: </send compile_file: 0ms>
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: <write_server_cpp from cpp>
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: flush_writebuf() failed Broken pipe
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: write of source chunk to host 192.168.222.12
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: failed Broken pipe
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: </write_server_cpp from cpp: 77ms>
ICECC[7265] 10:26:43: got exception Error 15 - write to host failed (192.168.222.12)

Nothing has been changed on this machine since its been working. What could be the reason, or where to look for solution ?

I see that from time to time, I added a bunch more logging to try to track it down and I haven't figured anything out. If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to know why it happens and how to fix it.

Sometimes it works to restart the daemon on the remote, but that is a guess.

I was able to resolve the problem by restarting both the scheduler and the daemon service on the scheduler machine. (Restarting scheduler and daemon alone as a non-service didnt help). However, I also was able to resolve it by only restarting the iceccd service. I also noticed that there was an unlinked .iceccd.socket= in my ~ folder... which is a hint of some missing unlink before binding ..

So the only thing it helped was
sudo service iceccd stop
sudo service iceccd start
