Version 5.7

I'm trying new FTP capabilities, and I get this error.

Sorry, this file has changed outside of ICEcoder, cannot save
/*************/public_html/******.es/index.php

Reload this file and copy your version to a diff pane?
(left side = file from server, right side = unsaved file)

A couple of weeps ago, happened too on a local file.

Some idea?

Hmmm, I'll try and see what may be up here.

Did you click OK? You should be able to copy the content from the diff side in right pane into left and then save successfully?

Let me know if this happens for you more than once or it's a one-off?

Thanks
Matt

I have the same problem (version 5.7). But the problem arises always whenever I want to save the changed file on a remote server and that error message appears.
So right now i absolutely can not use icecoder on remote server (shared hosting).
Is it a bug or some settings must be done?

If i click OK and then copy from right panel to the left panel and then save, everything is OK.
But this is not the solution if i need to work with many files and save a lot.

Thanks

Hello Matt, did you find out where the problem could be?
I really like ICECODER, but without proper saving, it is useless for me :(
See my problem description below.

It sounds like it thinks the file has been modified and has a modified datetime other than what it has on record.

Are you using this on a Windows based machine in any way?

Hi Matt.

I'm a new IceCoder user and just purchased my license a few weeks back to support your work on this. So far so good.

I'm now using version 6 and this error is still present when using the FTP feature. Have you found any fixes for this FTP saving issue?

Many thanks and have an awesome day.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian

Sorry for the delay in replying. This issue was raised in this GitHub issue: https://github.com/mattpass/ICEcoder/issues/692

However, I didn't get time to tuck it into this v6.0 release and was waiting to hear back from the user before committing what I think is the fix (since I can't reproduce the issue, so guessing a little).

If you can reproduce the issue, apply the fix mentioned and it works, great - please let me know and I'll commit it into the repo.

Many thanks
Matt

The fix works, well most of the time. I did get an error once after implementing the fix, but not again a few tries after. So far so good.

Can I make two future feature requests? It's sort of related.

On the FTP interface, can we have some way to indicate if it's SFTP or something? So far I know I can connect to SFTP by setting PASV connection on. But otherwise there's no way to tell.

Also can we have an option that if I leave the password field off in the FTP manager, it'll prompt me for a password everytime I use that connection? I'm paranoid and I don't trust myself. Hahah.

Non critical requests though. Maybe on v6.5 or v7 :)

Thanks again for the fix.

Those ideas sound really good and I'll add them as GitHub issues so they can be looked at soon.
