Been out checking ice..Quaboag has 3.5 inches of black ice...THe eastern shore has more thickness but its repacked drift ice from friday.and is thicker.I would say most of the lake looks pretty good..At least an 8 for texture...A couple of us are planning on Tuesday to set up and scout...Launch was tight and safe no plank needed,,I walked out about 300 ft..Jumped a little ice remained solid...My Guess is by Tuesday is maybe 5+,,Wind looks like mon wed thursday a breeze..Tuesday looks light..Tel 5083443406

6 boats sailed Quaboag today..Black.Ice was solid 7" to 3.5" no hazards I sailed the entire lake shore to shore,,There are large areas of perfect10 black ice.. Some grade 7.. a few spots of drift ice maybe 4.5..that can easily be sailed around or over.wind was light to breezy towards the afternoon,,,

In the "Viking" with 6 inches of padding and 500 pounds of bulk it felt more like drifting along on a cottonball..Thus, the higher rating for the ice John. "Get yourself a Viking and turn your cobbles into cottonballs"
