Natsuki Hanae (Tokyo Ghoul and Your Lie in April) will reprise his role as Tanjiro Kamado, the kind-hearted but hard-headed hero of the series. Akari Kito (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun and Engage Kiss) voices Tanjiro's sister Nezuko who became a demon after a vicious attack. While Zenitsu and Inosuke do not appear as much this season, fans will hear Hiro Shimono and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka's voices, respectively, in the first episode of the "Swordsmith Village" arc. This season will have Hashiras Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji and Demon Slayer Genya taking more of the spotlight, with Kengo Kawanishi, Kana Hanazawa and Nobuhiko Okamoto voicing their respective characters. Toshio Furukawa and Kousuke Toriumi will voice Hantengu and Gyokko, two of the Twelve Kizuki who will seek to wipe out the Demon Slayers.
Written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer received an anime adaptation from ufotable in April 2019. A sequel film called Mugen Train premiered in October 2020 before Season 2 aired, covering the "Entertainment District" arc. The third season, adapting the "Swordsmith Village" arc will have Haruo Sotozaki returning as the director with chief animation director Akira Matsushima. This arc follows Tanjiro as he visits the Swordsmith Village, a hidden village where swordsmiths responsible for creating the very blades Demon Slayers use to kill demons live, to repair his own broken blade. There, he unexpectedly meets the Love Hashira Mitsuri and Mist Hashira Muichiro. Unfortunately, Tanjiro's time at the village is violently interrupted by the appearance of two formidable Upper-Rank Demons, one of whom has the ability to split into different bodies.

Now to why Netflix seems to be trailing behind Crunchyroll when it comes to Demon Slayer. When an anime episode airs in Japan, it keeps the structure and closure of the manga, which also means there are no reruns. This is meant to keep audiences tuning in each week to find out whether Tanjiro finally decapitates that Upper Moon demon. More viewers mean more ad revenue, so episodes need to keep going without a break in the story. American TV allows for more freedom on that front, with repeats shown on TV and streaming services often making entire seasons available at once.
