Hey USFT supporters!

Just incase you missed the announcement USFT is hosting our 7th Annual National Convergence this Spring. ‘Igniting a Movement: Fair Trade Universities,’ will be held from Friday March 18th – Sunday March 20th at Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Bowling Green, KY.

This Fall USFT launched "Fair Trade Universities" here in the US with a coalition of partners. Since then we have seen 3 new schools gain official recognition and USFT has signed up over 70 new student leaders interested in starting campaigns at their universities and high schools.

Now what we need is a national, culminating event for more students to come together and get the training and skills necessary to launch successful campaigns to ‘Fair Trade’ their universities and high schools.

We’ve got a long way to go with our FTU movement here in the US to catch up to our fellow Fair Trade advocates in the UK. They’ve already got over 100 FTUs!

The good news is that USFT's National Convergence aims to be that spark to ignite this new movement. We're even going to have an international video conference with the student Fairtrade campaigners in the UK, experts and leaders in the Fair Trade Movement and hopefully a coffee farmer from a Fair Trade coop in Peru.

So whether you're a student, faculty, staff or Fair Trade advocate I invite you to be a part of this National Convergence in whatever way you can.

Here are just a few ways that you, or your business, can help support 'Igniting a Movement.'

1. You can help SPONSOR scholarships to cover travel costs for student or producer delegates.
2. You can DONATE  goods in-kind for the conference bags.
2. You can have a table for your organization or business at our Fair Trade MARKET.
3. You can help us spread the word about this exciting opportunity to others in the Fair Trade movement. Check out our Facebook Event here.
4. You can present a WORKSHOP on Fair Trade, community organizing, or a related topic.
