Hello friends,

MidBash is happening March 26-28 in Minneapolis, MN.

More details on housing, getting to Minneapolis, workshops, trainings, tours, and the schedule coming next week!

What is MidBash?
MidBash is an intimate gathering of housing and worker co-ops and collective organizing groups in the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Heartland regions.  The weekend provides an opportunity for co-op networking and training through workshops, skill shares, and through hands-on experiences with local co-ops of all kinds.  NASCO helps organize regional co-op "bashes" closer to home so that more members from each co-op who can't always make it out to Ann Arbor for the November NASCO Cooperative Education & Training Institute can still participate in co-op education and networking.

This year, NASCO welcomes co-opers to Minneapolis, a city with a rich cooperative movement.  Minneapolis is home to many kinds of housing co-ops from student co-ops to senior co-ops, food co-ops, worker co-ops, retail co-ops, credit unions etc.

Does MidBash cost anything?
MidBash is FREE

How do I register?
RSVP by shooting me an email.

Where will I sleep?
Overnight guests can crash at Student's Campus, near campus and the MegaBus stop.

What about rides?
If you are looking for a ride, please let me know right away.  If you can offer a ride or can stop in a city, let me know your tentative route and how many spots you have in the car/van.  Chicago is a good place to meet up and drive to Minneapolis.

In the pipeline...
+ Workshops put on by NASCO staff and YOU
[possible topics: fair housing, best practices for membership processes, budget fluency, maintenance 101, consensus & group process, meeting facilitation, co-op history, community asset mapping, sustainability]
+ Tours of Minneapolis housing, food, and worker co-ops*
+ Info session on the US Social Forum
+ Skill shares / DIY Fest
+ Brunch / potlucks
+ Saturday night party @ Student's Co-op

* bring your own bicycle if you can!

If you are interested in presenting a workshop or facilitating a skill share, please let me know asap!  I would be happy to be a sounding board for workshop and skill share ideas.

Interested?
In the next few weeks, talk with your housemates about MidBash.   Coordinate carpools; rent a van.  Brainstorm skill shares.  Gather 'zines, buttons, stickers, and newsletters from your co-op and community.

Yours in cooperation,
mingwei
