Hello Everyone,
I’m Linda Hefferin, and I teach business management courses at Elgin Community College. I’ve taught full time at ECC for over 20 years.
Instructional technology has changed greatly since I first started here! I have always been interested in learning about and experimenting with cutting-edge innovations. Some of these technologies may aid in content delivery; some of it is no more than a bell and whistle that looks impressive but accomplishes no substantive goal. It is up to us as instructors to differentiate between beneficial use of technology and that which doesn’t add to our instructional delivery.
I’ve seen this video before, and watching it again reminded me how our students’ use of technology continues to evolve. They do not learn the same way that I did in college. They demand different learning modes that support their technology-driven lifestyle. If we don’t keep up to date in the area of technology, we will left behind with the dinosaurs! Hopefully, we will all learn and share some new instructional technology tips during this class. Thanks to Brandy for this opportunity.
Linda
