http://www.ltgreenroom.org is always interesting and sometimes
inspiring. I took a class with Susan Manning a number of years ago and
still try to pattern my online teaching based on her example. :-)
I've done some podcasts for my online courses using Gcast (http://
gcast.com). It is very convenient to just phone in a podcast! When I
surveyed my students I found that about 1/2 of them reported listening
to the podcast and about 1/2 of them state they just read the text
transcript instead of "bothering" to listen -- reasons provided
included being in a work or lab situation or just wanting to quickly
scan the info. This result surprised me. Has anyone else noticed that
not all student prefer this delivery method?
