Im trying to shutdown one of our hosts to see if we can resolve an issue with the omnistack accelerator card showing an error status. The HP maintenance guides state that a troubleshooting step when the accelerator card is not detected or the system cannot communicate with the card is to power off the host, wait 3 minutes for the system to fully shut down, then power the system back up.

I'm attempting to do this but in the vSphere web client when I right-click on the host and go to "All HPE Simplivity Actions.." the option "Shutdown virtual controller" is greyed out. Why is it greyed out? Should I ssh into the ovc and use the svt-shutdown-safe command?

I haven't tried this yet but will today. A question just occurred to me though, I don't have to worry about the ovc not coming back up if the accelerator card still isn't working when I boot everything back up, right?

Ah, well I'm glad I haven't tried this then. I was only going to attempt this because the official simplivity Maintenance and Installation guide lists shutting down the host as a troubleshooting step when the accelerator card is not responding or not detected. This is what I'm seeing when I look at the Accelerator card in vCenter:

Good day all,

I am by no means an IT expert, just looking for a little help creating a simple home network with one ssid to replace an old wifi network.

I'm sure I am missing something easy but here we go. I have a few AP 505's. I am just trying to create a simple network using these. I've upgraded to the new Instant firmware, I can log into them individually by both the IP and the "setmeup" ssid. Following the documentation, it says to create a VC IP, done. When I goto "add access point" the little plus sign is greyed out. I have converted them to default virtual controller mode. One is set to "master". They pull dchp from my fortigate router via a Poe switch.

Also tried to open a case on Aruba support portal but when Ilogin to it, it says that they cant find my profile and i need to open a case with Aruba support portal, but how i'll do that if the Aruba support portal tells me that my profile cant be found!!!

After the support case opened with ASP and some testing with another switch I found that the reason for all this weird behaviour in Aruba APs was because of the security settings that were set on by default in the swtich by the manufacturer.

I just want to confirm say the network IP is lost during the process. I will still be able to give it the same static IP and everything will be fine? Nothing will break during this process with the domain controller functions?

Personally, I would use the migration opportunity to get rid of an aging 2012 R2 DC by spinning up a new fresh 2019 virtual machine, promote it to a DC and demote and demolish the old one. That is a zero-downtime approach but might be complicated for you due to licensing constraints and possible additional services running alongside your current DC.

In case regular migration will not work for you for whatever reason (incompatible Hyper-V version, no shared storage, whatsoever), I would second the above suggestion to just copy over the VHDX. One more alternative is using a free V2V converter tool V2V Converter / P2V Converter - Converting VM Formats that will copy your VM from one Hyper-V server to another one in just a couple of clicks.

I'm looking for guidance or instructions on changing the IP address of a Ruckus Virtual SmartZone (vSZ) controller. I'd appreciate any step-by-step instructions. Our vSZ controller is currently operating but we need to change the IP address of our VSZ controller from private IP address to public IP address to connect to our RADIUS server.
