New snapshot release for topcat 2.4.9

I have made a snapshot release for TopCAT 2.4.9. It’s listed on the snapshot releases page on the ICAT Project website (https://icatproject.org/releases/snapshot-releases/) or can be found by going directly to https://repo.icatproject.org/repo/org/icatproject/topcat/2.4.9-SNAPSHOT/topcat-2.4.9-20220427.112840-1-distro.zip.

 

This snapshot includes a minor change to the TopCAT java side that allows for removing items from the cart using a POST request, which fixes an issue in Diamond in DataGateway where the length of the URL of the previously used DELETE request could be too long to process if users removed many items from their cart at once. The change is fully backwards compatible with TopCAT and TopCAT works exactly it did before – this is purely an addition to an existing REST API endpoint.

 

We consider this a final release candidate, and if no one has any objections we will release TopCAT 2.4.9 shortly. The snapshot has been tested on Diamond preprod, but feel free to test and it shall be discussed in tomorrow’s collaboration meeting.
