IT/Google Suite/Portal Learning Curve & Solutions (e.g. hands on training video's: "see and do")

Dear Onboarding team, See Jason's comment at very bottom then mine. Very useful feedback in understanding the impediments at first - my sense is Jason's story is typical - people 'stall' in their initial attempt due to unfamiliarity with google suite and how the portal looks, but once they 'have a go', it quickly becomes embodied. Jason's story is my story too! Humans are simple (and silly) creatures. 

LEARN: What I've learned here is that this obstacle/impediment will be standard and common. We can get ahead of the (learning) curve with new people via things like training videos and "hands on" show and do exercises.

Awesome, thanks for the update! It's funny, the portal looks unfamiliar at first, but yet once you take just 20mins or so with it, and start to play with it, it very quickly becomes familiar and then really easy! And then a whole new world opens up. It's a genius platform. I think it's the best in class. So simple, yet so effective and customizable. Thanks for helping David - he is amazing for an older generation that didn't grow up with computers!

I have joined a few of the centers of interest (providing I did so correctly). This will have to be some time next week though, but he is also very happy to be part of the CI's he has been suggested for.

There is an important point to note in the difference in design between the AlgoConsulting organization / information system package and the Facebook or Slack or BaseCamp discussion platforms.

The O/IS package developed by the Alliance seeks to avoid the superficial overinformation that clutters the daily lives of activists, typical of social networks. This O/IS makes the deliberate choice to filter out people whose engagement is superficial and who would waste other activists' time with superficial posts. The organic learning curve of this O/IS makes sure to filter such individuals with a higher level of requirement than the ergonomics of social networks. In total, the aim is that the information system should contain only the cream of the crop of the best, high value-added information.

Experience shows that if someone as important as David can't manage this system on his own, he will find someone in the collective who will help him to do so.

So it's a system that on the one hand filters out the superficial activists, but on the other hand gives every chance for the important activists to eventually come on board.
