Dear colleagues
tl;dr: Please complete this form to express your interest in attending a AAAI Fall Symposium on automated planning and climate this November 5-7 in Arlington, VA.
Long version:
We are excited to announce plans to organize a 2026 AAAI Fall Symposium on automated planning and climate!
The 2026 “Planning for a Better Planet” AAAI Fall Symposium aims to bring together members of the automated planning and reasoning communities to share and discuss climate-motivated planning research. Examples of climate applications include, but are by no means limited to, work that helps us better understand the changing climate, adapt to climate change, and optimize systems, resource distribution, and infrastructure to mitigate long-term climate impacts.
The symposium aims to connect researchers within the automated planning community with scientists and researchers in climate domains to align on the challenges and opportunities for research on automated planning and reasoning across climate domains. Through this dialogue, we hope to spark discussion on climate advocacy within planning research, launch new collaborations and research directions, and build a network and community for researchers working at the intersection of AI/robotics and climate.
The 2026 AAAI Fall Symposium Series will take place November 5-7, 2026, in the Westin Arlington | Arlington, VA, US
