Dear Planning Community,

We are excited to share that the Planning Ontology Tool is now available as a plugin on the public online platform - Planning.Domains! Our tool (plugin) bridges the gap between PDDL planning and semantic knowledge representation by transforming the PDDL domain, problem, and plan files into an RDF/OWL knowledge graph that can then be queried to drive any application - e.g., generate explanations.
Key features of the plugin are:

  1. Automatic conversion of PDDL files (domain, problem, and plan) to a knowledge graph (KG) in RDF/OWL format

  2. Interactive D3.js visualization of planning knowledge via the KG

  3. SPARQL query interface for semantic exploration of the KG

Try it out at:

Citation: If you use this tool in your research, please cite our recent paper in Discover Data Journal, 2025: Building a planning ontology to represent and exploit planning knowledge and its applications.

We welcome your feedback!

Best regards,

Bharath Muppasani

PS: Special thanks to Dr. Christian Muise and the people behind the planning.domains platform for making such plugins easy to build and deploy.
