Dear students,
We invite students working in combinatorial search to participate in the Doctoral Consortium (DC) at the 19th International Symposium on Combinatorial Search (SoCS 2026), to be held in Bremerhaven, Germany, from August 14–16, 2026 (right before IJCAI 2026).
We welcome submissions that study or apply combinatorial search in diverse areas, including artificial intelligence, planning, robotics, constraint programming, meta-reasoning, operations research, navigation, and bioinformatics.
FormatEach participant will present in a poster session and a spotlight talk.
We plan to have a mentoring program in which students discuss and receive advice from established researchers.
May 18, 2026, submission deadline.
May 25, 2026, notification of accept/reject.
June 8, 2026, camera-ready deadline for extended abstracts.
Extended abstract: An abstract outlining the student's research. The abstract should not exceed 2 pages, inclusive of references, and must adhere to the AAAI two-column, camera-ready style.
Long/short paper: A paper, with the student as the first author, submitted to either SoCS-26 or another conference or journal within the past year (not including SoCS-25). Any submissions that were accepted, rejected, or still under review are eligible.
SoCS will aim at providing student support, partly covering travel and/or registration costs through a separate scholarship application process. Participation in the DC, however, is a requirement for students receiving travel assistance.
