Call for System Demonstrations – ICAPS 2026

TL;DR:

The ICAPS 2026 System Demonstrations Program invites researchers and practitioners in automated planning and scheduling to showcase their working systems in action. This is a unique opportunity to highlight real-world impact, novel capabilities, and innovative applications in front of the planning community.

We welcome any system with strong ties to automated planning or scheduling, including but not limited to:

  • Cutting-edge research prototypes
  • Deployed or in-development applications
  • Tools for teaching or visualizing planning/scheduling
  • Systems powered by large language models, reinforcement learning, or hybrid approaches

🏆 An award will be given for the Best System Demonstration!

Submission instructions

Submissions consist of a 2-page abstract (AAAI format) and a no more than 10-minute video demo, both critical for evaluation. Accepted demos will be featured on the ICAPS website and showcased during the conference.

💡 Submissions should emphasize:

  • ✔️ Robustness – How does the system handle execution and edge cases?
  • ✔️ Generalization – Can it adapt to new domains or scenarios?
  • ✔️ Scalability – How does performance evolve with problem size?
  • ✔️ Deployment Effort – What’s required to model, train, or adapt the system?
