About the Role
As an AI Planning Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI-powered planning and scheduling systems for a reimagined set of design tools for any type of mechanical system. You'll work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, and software engineering to design the designer.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-based planning and scheduling algorithms using techniques such as heuristic search, constraint satisfaction, and machine learning
- Integrate classical planning methods with modern deep learning approaches for hybrid AI systems
- Optimize planning performance for real-time and large-scale applications
- Collaborate with product teams to understand domain requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Research and prototype novel planning techniques and methodologies
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in AI planning, including experience with classical planning (STRIPS, PDDL), heuristic search (A*, IDA*), or constraint-based planning
- Expert Proficiency in Python and JavaScript
- Expert Proficiency in modern AI-based IDEs
- Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills and understanding of computational complexity
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Sense of adventure for revolutionizing how design is done
- You must be comfortable working within a dynamic high-powered team
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or related field with focus on automated planning
- Broad knowledge of classical planning
- Published research in AI planning, Manufacturing sequence planning or simila topics.
- Experience with robotics, logistics, manufacturing, or other planning application domains
- Familiarity with formal methods and verification
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and reinforcement learning
