We are delighted to invite you to submit your papers to the 4th workshop on ALTRUIST: sociAL roboTs for peRsonalized, continUous and adaptIve aSsisTance (http://altruist21.istc.cnr.it), which will be held at the 33rd IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (RO-MAN 2024), Pasadena, U.S.A., on August 2024.

The workshop aims at pushing the synergetic contribution from experts (scholars, researchers, Ph.D. students, and practitioners) in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and other crossing disciplines involved in developing innovative and effective research and technologies for the aging society and assistance in general. The workshop will pursue a multi-disciplinary approach by collecting knowledge and experiences from heterogeneous disciplines and also experiences from stakeholders in order to show how efforts from technological and non-technological actors would add value to the promotion of innovative assistive systems. The workshop aims at bridging the gap between the health needs of users and (potentially conflicting) clinical/social requirements of different stakeholders (e.g., patients, roboticists, engineers, and healthcare professionals).

Topics of Interest

  • Cognitive Robotics

  • Social-Aware and User-Aware Interaction

  • Personalized and Adaptive Robotic Assistance

  • Activity monitoring systems (indoor and outdoor)

  • Object and Activity Recognition

  • Trustworthy Social Robots

  • Explainable AI with Social Robots

Submission Guidelines

We welcome prospective participants to submit extended abstracts (up to 4 pages LNCS one-column) or full papers that will be included in the CEUR-WS proceedings of the workshop. Two types of full papers are considered for publication and should be formatted as follows:

  • Long paper: minimum 6-7 pages formatted as LNCS one-column paper

Submitted short and long papers should comply with CEURART style. An Overleaf page is available for Latex as a template. Style files could even be downloaded offline as a zip file. Please refer to the official instructions on the CEUR-WS webpage for further details.

We strongly encourage workshop participants to present during paper presentation demos and videos showing their experiments and achievements. All material collected during the Workshop, such as video, slides, papers, etc., will be made available on the workshop website upon approval of the authors.
