Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
It is now the time for the Fourth Grand Quran Competition. This is a good time for our kids to utilize the end of year break to memorize some verses from the Holy Quran and may Allah reward all of us. The update from the last three competition results is as follows:
- Areas of success: The majority of the participants did well in the memorization part of the competition.
- Areas for improvement: Most felt short in reading correctly (pronunciation) as well as in the tajweed applications.
I would like the parents to work with their kids to help them memorize and excel in the pronunciation and Tajweed so that they can read Quran correctly. There are good website that are going to help you in that if you do not have the skills necessary to do the job.
The rules of the Quran completion will be as follows:
- Participants can only apply for one level specified in the competition chart based on age. However, participants can also be challenged in one additional level that is classified for older participants and will be qualified to win an additional prize.
- A participant may participate in a level classified for a younger participant but will not be qualified to win a prize. Hence he/she will be considered a participant.
- If you register online it is free and you kids will be tested first based on their online IDs and if you choose to register on site there will be 5 dollars fee. So please register online as soon as possible.
