Hi

Another very minor thing - would it be possible to add Functions to the list of labels you can change via the user interface label? I want to change it so that when you are browsing, the heading at the top of the page appears as 'Browse Functions' rather than 'Browse Function' to avoid confusion and to be consistent with 'Browse archival descriptions', 'Browse authority records' etc.

Also, is there a reason why the current headings are 'Browse archival descriptions', 'Browse authority records', 'Browse functions' but then they switch to 'List subjects', 'List places' etc. Wouldn't it be more consistent to use 'Browse' for all of them?

Thanks

Victoria

It's great that you noticed this problems of wording consistency. Actually, English is not my native language so I prefer that another member of the team give you a precise reply.

Anyway, I think that you can't update labels in English through the ICA-AtoM interface, but translate those in other languages, only if you set your user as part of the "translator" group. If you feel confortable editing our source files, you can try to open a text editor and edit the labels by your own. In Function case, you have to open "apps/qubit/modules/function/templates/browseSuccess.php" and update line 14. However, you shouldn't do this if you are not sure of it and do backups before you start!

Let's see what say other members of the team, ;-).

Hi Victoria,

There is an issue [1] for adding a user interface label for the
"Functions" object, but I missed it for Release 1.0.9. :( I've bumped
up the priority for the issue to remind me to make this a priority for
Release 1.1. It's a fairly easy change and you are right that there's
no good reason for Functions to be left out. :)

I've also created a new issue [2] to update the labeling for the
browse pages as you have suggested - please add a comment to the issue
if you notice any other pages that should be updated.

I notice that you've labelled the digital object browse menu
"images". I just wanted to let you know, if you plan to have images
as your only digital object type you can make the "Browse > images"
menu go straight to the "Browse images" page by changing the "path"
column from "digitalobject/list" to "digitalobject/browse/mediatype/
136". It's not a huge deal, but it will save the public users a
click. :)
