Hi there,

Is there a way to add access points to authorities other than "occupation"? I want to add places as access points, rather than free text entries as they appear in ISAAR, but there doesn't appear to be a way to do that (that I've found). The goal is that someone can click on Janvier 194 (a reserve), for example, and see all authorities (people, schools, etc), associated with that place, the way you can for records. I don't want these places to be authorities, as there's no reason for us to describe them (Calgary, for example, really doesn't warrant a description). Is there a way to create more access point types for authorities?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Right now, Authority records don't support further access points - the Occupations access points were recently added in the 2.4 release. Adding additional access points, such as places, would require development - and because this is feature development, we would likely need community sponsorship to be able to take on this work and add it to a future public release. You can read more about how we develop and maintain AtoM on our wiki here:
If you are interested in having Artefactual develop this functionality for you, please feel free to contact me off-list and we can prepare an estimate for you. If you have your own developers, you might find our development resources useful:
