Having trouble installing AtoM 2.10 in a VM

I am volunteering at our local (volunteer) municipal archive. As someone with an IT background, the other volunteers are hoping I can help with AtoM so I'm learning everything I can.

I have spun up the docker version of AtoM in my homelab for testing and it works well.

I have also tried a couple of times to install AtoM in an Ubuntu VM following the instructions at

https://www.accesstomemory.org/en/docs/2.10/admin-manual/installation/ubuntu/

Both times I get stuck at the "Create the database section" specifically the "running the following command using the password you created earlier" part. But I didn't create a password anywhere. What am I missing?

Any help will be appreciated.

It's the password that is asked there: "Database password"

Actually it's the step before, called "Create the database" that I can't do without a root password that I don't have.

The default mysql password for root in Ubuntu actually is not set. So you can just do sudo mysql -uroot
