Hello, everyone I am hoping I am almost done setting Atom on a Xampp server. My next issue is the one below.

Uncaught Zend_Acl_Exception: addRole() expects $role to be of type Zend_Acl_Role_Interface

I am completely lost by this error. There's barley an info in this forum and online about this error. So, if anyone would like to lend a hand, your help would be very much appreciated.

Hi there,

As you know, we do not test XAMPP installations, and recommend using a virtual appliance to install an Ubuntu VM on your Windows server before proceeding instead.

That said, I have searched the forum for similar error messages, and have found only 2 cases. In one, the problem had to do with a configuration issue when using Apache as the web server. In the other case, there was a missing PHP extension, and/or the wrong version of the extension was installed. The second half of this thread has some summary suggestions for a user reporting a similar issue:
I hope this helps! We're unable to provide detailed support suggestions for your chosen installation method, but you can also try searching for "XAMPP" in the forum, or browsing all posts tagged with "Windows" to find other threads that might help!

Cheers,

Thank you for the help I figured was was wrong. I had to reinstall XAMPP so the admin user can be created properly.

For future Xampp users you are going to need an APCu file installed in your PHP to have installed properly. Make sure the version you are using is compatible with the PHP.

Unfortunately, when I tried PHP 8.0 it didn't work so recommend using 7.3 for now.
