Reset Admin Password on Atom 2.0

Hi all

I must have mistyped my admin password when installing Accesstomemory 2.0 since I cannot login anymore. Is there a way to reset it? I have full access to the linux server and the mysql database.

Hi Pascal,

If php5-cli is installed you can go to the AtoM root directory and run:

$ php symfony tools:reset-password USERNAME NEWPASSWORD

Replace USERNAME and NEWPASSWORD accordingly.

Thanks I just tried that: (php5-cli is installed)

root@nginx-php-fastcgi nginx/atom# php symfony tools:reset-password admin 123456
Failed loading /usr/lib/php5/20100525/xcache.so:  /usr/lib/php5/20100525/xcache.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and it does not seem to have changed anything. 

Can I just delete the admin user in the table or empty the password field there? It is a fresh install from yesterday so there is no content or other users there yet..

Hi there,

It seems that you have a problem with xcache, try to disable it temporary or reinstall the package.

Updating the database manually can be trickier because the passwords are not stored but their hashes. reset-password is your best friend, but you'll need to fix that problem with the xcache extension in your system. It shouldn't be too hard.

Hello,

I just re-installed xcache and run the command again

root@nginx-php-fastcgi nginx/atom# php symfony tools:reset-password admin 123456

root@nginx-php-fastcgi nginx/atom#

now I don't get any answer from the console. the password hash in the database does not change and login still does not work. However, if I don't add a username it seems to at least want to do something..

root@nginx-php-fastcgi nginx/atom# php symfony tools:reset-password        

The execution of task "tools:reset-password" failed.  

 - Not enough arguments.                

symfony tools:reset-password [--application[="..."]] [--env="..."] [--connection="..."] [--activate[="..."]] username [password]

root@nginx-php-fastcgi nginx/atom#

I don't understand this..

Mike Gale pushed a fix yesterday that may fix the reset-password task for you.
