Hi David,

Our Technical Director is out of the office today (so don't hold me to this just yet!), but I believe that we are hoping to add 18.04 installation instructions for the 2.5 release - meaning that we'll test the new major release on 18.04 as well as 16.04, and may drop the documentation for the 14.04 release going forward. This is because I think it's likely that the 2.5 release won't be ready until we're either close to or past the official EOL for Ubuntu 14.04 support - aka, 2.5 is likely to be late 2018 or early 2019 at this point, and we'd like to encourage our users to remain on up-to-date LTS Ubuntu releases, and also reduce the amount of testing and documentation we have to do/maintain for each release.

We're hoping to have 2.4.1 ready very soon, and are not currently planning to prepare 18.04 documentation for that release, as we want to be able to roll out the bug fixes and new GDPR notification banner feature sooner than later.

Cheers,

Hello all,

I just completed a (apparently successful) in-place upgrade from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 16.04, which buys our server another 3 years of life.

Is there anyone out there running AtoM on Ubuntu 18.04 yet?

For anyone from Artefactual reading this, will we get official 18.04 install instructions for AtoM anytime soon? The 16.04 instructions were vital for the upgrade process.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

AtoM Technical Director David here. ;)   I can confirm that we are planning to include installation instructions for Ubuntu 18.04 in the AtoM 2.5 release.   There is at least one known issue with running AtoM 2.4 on Ubuntu 18.04 due to mcrypt support being deprecated in PHP 7.1+.

Best regards,
David J.
