PHP import killed

Good day! I want to ask for advice.

We have a server with 8 GB RAM. PHP memory_limit is set to 256M, elasticsearch JVM options are -Xms2g -Xmx2g, and there are about 350,000 documents in Elasticsearch.

The problem is when I run command php symfony csv:import, it gets killed because of Out of Memory. Looks like the server just doesn’t have enough RAM.

So, I’m wondering: would it help if I lower elasticsearch’s memory to -Xms1g -Xmx1g to free up some RAM for the PHP process? Do you think that could make a difference?

Thanks!

Hi Ekaterina

Have you tried  php  -d memory_limit=-1 symfony csv:import

I’m a bit worried that unlimited PHP memory plus JVM heap set to -Xms2g -Xmx2g on an 8 GB RAM server might cause some problems or make it run out of memory
