Great.

It should be possible for user with 'contributor' credentials to edit
archival description, authority record and archival institution data. Can
you please give a more specific example of where this is not working?

Please note that only users with 'editor' credentials should be able to edit
taxonomy terms.

Please note also that in release 1.1 (due March 1, 2010), the system
administrator will have the ability to customize and define very specific
permission rules.

Release 1.0.7 will be posted early next week.

Hi to all
I just joined the group.
Let me introduce myself : my name is Dominique Taffin, I am director
of the Archives of Martinique (FWI). As a member of Carbica, I am
implementing AtoM to achieve a directory of archives in the Caribbean
region.
My concern is the following :
on version 1.0.6 installed on the website of our temporary host (the
developer of the website), I can create and view an archival
institution, but cannot edit and modify it : I can edit is as an
authority record, but not as an archival institution, because there is
no hyperlink valid on the title of the institution, and no command
accessible on the page.
I tried for an archival description, and for this I have no problem.

Hi Dominique,

Welcome to the ICA-AtoM discussion list!

We cannot seem to re-create your issue. We tried it with both a
'contributor' user and and 'administrator' user. Are you able to edit the
'archival institution' records as an 'administrator' user?

Could you try to re-create the steps and error on the ica-atom.org/demo/
site?

Otherwise, could you please send Evelyn a temporary login account to your
site (off the list to eve...@artefactual.com) and instructions on how to
re-create the error so that we can get to the bottom of it.

Cheers,

I have retried, same problem. As an administrator I can edit and
modify, but still not as a contributor. I hope Evelyn can do
something.

Hi Dominique,

This is actually how the "contributor" role is designed to work in
ICA-AtoM 1.0.6. Contributors can add and edit archival descriptions
and authority records, but not archival institutions or taxonomies.
You'll need to make your user an administrator. Please note that in
version 1.0.7 contributors can add and edit archival institutions.

Evelyn
